Course Overview
The course, legislative practices and procedures, is designed for legislative practitioners, parliamentary administrators, legislators, etc. The essence of the course is to expose participants to the unique practices and procedures established by the legislative assemblies either by norms, conventions or precedents for the conduct of legislative business. It will enhance the participant’s knowledge of the methods and sequences through which bills are processed, legislations passed, oversights are conducted, the procedures through which effective constituency relations by legislators are carried out and public participation in law making process conducted. The course will also work on the procedure of amending a legislation.
